Alzheimer’s Disease and Dementia Care Seminar

This is the required seminar for those pursuing CDP® certification and who qualify through the National Council of Certified Dementia Practitioners. To see if you qualify, please visit the NCCDP web site at www.nccdp.org, or just come for the education.

Who should attend?

Everyone can attend the seminar, but especially health care professionals, front line staff in the health care industry, and caregivers.

 

Seminar Schedule

The seminar includes eight (8) hours of instruction, plus lunch and break time. Check in will begin at 7:30 a.m., and class will end at 4:30 p.m. Light refreshments and lunch will be provided. 

 

No video taping or recording of any kind permitted. A student handout notebook will be provided to each student either in digital format, a spiral notebook, or a 3-ring binder.

Seminar Fees

The Seminar fee is $185 per person, and must be paid when reservation is made. Group rates for facilities may be available, contact for information. Reservations may be cancelled until two weeks before the seminar date, with a partial refund. There is a $50 cancellation fee. If reservation is cancelled less than two weeks before the seminar date, the cancellation fee is $75.  Payments may be made via credit card and PayPal. If a seminar needs to be cancelled by Learning with Lisa Jo LLC due to unforeseen circumstances,  the seminar will be rescheduled at a later date, or payments will be returned in full.

Would you like to understand the causes of cognitive impairment? Does your family or organization wish to learn more about dementia and conditions that cause memory loss? Do you need some ideas for redirecting behavior or suggestions for activities? Would some tips on communication and interaction be helpful? Lisa Jo can offer a presentation to suit your needs. With the use of a computer and a projector, the mystery behind the illnesses can be explained providing better insight and understanding for caregivers and friends of individuals with dementia. Price varies depending on location and length of presentation. $25 travel and administrative fee, plus $50 per hour. Add additional $25 for travel to locations 50 miles or more away from Lapeer, Michigan.
